Setting up rich pins on your website or blog might seem like a daunting task, but if you are using WordPress it’s as easy as installing a plugin and entering some information! Here is how you can easily set up rich pins on your WordPress website or blog without touching a single bit of code!
Step 1: Install ABG Rich Pins Plugin
Go to Plugins > Add New and search for the ABG Rich Pins Plugin. Once you have found it, follow your usual plugin installation procedure and install the plugin.
Step 2: Set Up Rich Pins
Unfortunately, you WILL have to do this for every post you want to have rich pins (all of them). Fortunately, it’s an easy setup and it will just take a bit of typing and clicking on your part. Once your plugin is installed when you navigate to your post you will see new fields underneath it. You can choose from several different rich pins options. You’ll notice that articles is not on the list, the real benefit of this plugin is for sites that talk about products, movies, or recipes. This will give you the ability to easily add the additional information that those types of rich pins require. Fortunately for simple articles, most of the information is already provided by your SEO plugin. Depending on which option you choose, you will be given selected fields to enter. Add the information, the once you are done update your site.
Step 3: Validate Your Pins
The last step is simply validation. Click the “pin validator” link under the rich pin fields. This will take you to Pinterest’s rich pin validator. Follow the directions to validate your pins. Your first pins may take some time to validate.
